The International Rhino Fund of New Zealand is a Registered Charity based in New Zealand and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers.
As a Registered Charity we are required by the NZ Charities Commission to provide an annual return of our business activities, which is available for the public to view at WWW.CHARITIES.GOVT.NZ. So our Donors can see how we spend their money.
Having always had a passion and interest for Rhino, and seeing how dire the plight of this species is, we decided to establish our charitable organisation.
Our purpose as set out in our Deed of Trust, is to contribute toward the survival of the Rhino Species.
We will do this by raising funds, from which we will allocate grants to projects deemed to be contributing to the Rhino's survival/ conservation. Examples of this may include:
•Rhino Protection Units •Rhino breeding programs •Rhino habitat protection •Scientific/ field research •Rhino sanctuaries •Rhino education programs etc.
It is our intention that funds will be prioritised for the Rhino species in most need of protection and where we deem the funds will bring the most 'bang for your buck' in contributing to the long term benefits for the Rhino, on behalf of you , our donors.

As a charity we believe all staff and peoples associated with our organisation should work in it charitably. After all how can we expect our donors to be charitable if we ourselves are not. So everyone associated within our organisation work on a voluntary basis only, and at personal expense we presently cover the entire costs associated with this Charity...e.g this website!
We believe this sets us apart from many other charitable organisations, and we encourage and challenge other 'charitable organisations' to follow our example and do the same.
Our logo as seen on our welcome page is from a cave drawing in the Chauvet Caves in France. This image is 35,000 yrs old and is the oldest cave drawing of a Rhino in the world.
We thought this an appropriate logo to show how many thousands of years Man and Rhino have roamed this earth together and puts into perspective how much history we lose if we lose the Rhino.
We thank you for visiting our website and hope you leave with a better knowledge of this wonderful species. We ask you to also consider that whichever charity or cause you donate to, or may in the future, to remember this. We live on an animal planet. Because of mankind, the animals are going extinct, while the population of mankind grows unabated. Make a difference where its needed most.
Regards,
M. Covacich, Chairman; IRFNZ (Registered Charity: CC29180) ; (Certificate of Incorporation :2145312)
